The Largest Gathering Of Nigeria Celebs And Artists Was Recorded At Star New Year Event in Lagos.

Premium lager, STAR, on new year's eve drew the crème de la crème of Nigeria’s artistes,  with some of the biggest names in the music entertainment industry witnessing  what was arguably the largest toast in Africa.

The event, one of the special highlights of the second annual Countdown held at Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island Lagos. The symbolic toast to usher in the new year was anchored by the Corporate Affairs Adviser Nigerian Breweries Plc, Kufre Ekanem with Funke  Akindele, Funmi Iyanda and a bevy of other guests who had the audience raising their glasses to toast 2014 as the giant LED clock on display struck midnight.>>>>

Annie and 2face Idibia Welcome New Baby Girl

Mr. and Mrs. Idibia welcomed a daughter yesterday January 3rd 2014. Annie Idibia gave birth in an Atlanta hospital. Mother and child are said to be doing great. The couple got married in March 2013, and already have 41/2 year old daughter, Isabella. Big congrats.

Empire Mates Entertainment has released the official video for Banky W‘s “Jasi“, a song produced by MasterKraft, and features additional background vocals by EME queen Niyola.

The hilarious Jasi video was shot in Lagos, Nigeria and London and highlights Banky W‘s playfulness & versatility.

Very few artistes worldwide are able to change styles as effortlessly as Mr W can… and here we see him temporarily set aside his “King of Afro-R&B” crown to pull off this Afrobeats/Afropop club banger, and it works quite well.

Shot by Uber Director Sesan, the video is quite hilarious and features cameos from MasterKraft, and Lynxxx… and we hope you have as much fun watching it, as we did filming it. Here’s to Africa’s most versatile Artist, Banky W.

The video also shows his acting skills as Banky plays more than one role, in the same scene, in the vein of an Eddie Murphy or Tyler Perry.

And the winners are…

South Africa lit up with African superstars at the 2013 Channel O Africa Video Music Awards in Johannesburg on Saturday 30th November 2013.

The show was hosted by African rap stars Naeto C and AKA. There were loads of memorable performances including that of P-Square, who took home their Special Recognition Award as well as Most Gifted African West Video award for Alingo.

Wizkid was definitely the star of this year’s ceremony; clinching the Most Gifted Video of the Year award for his hit track Azonto. He also accepted Banky W‘s award for Most Gifted R&B Video for Yes/No.

South African duo Mafikizolo took home the award for the best dance video.
