All
is not over with the issues of President Jonathan’s arrival in Kenya with 7
Presidential fleets. Last week, the Nigerian media and opposition groups were
busy outdoing each other in reporting the news. Even yours truly posted the
video on this blog.
However,
in this article, a blogger shades more light on the issue of the Private Jets
and we found it worthy to report on this platform:
Below
are his contributions:>>>>
First
let’s look at the Kenyan woman’s comment about Nigerians arriving Kenyan with 7
(seven) private jets, the media and opposition group took it as mockery when
the woman actually said Nigeria wowed Kenyan. Had the Kenyans ever seen such a
large fleet of private jets? No not even the president of Kenyan it was
actually a wow situation.
What
was the intention of the lady definitely not mockery, listen to her, she was
truly excited. If you are yet to watch the video, look HERE!
“Your president visited our country
with seven private jets and that’s never happened before. We were all excited.
This is Nigeria. It’s the country with the largest private jets. Seven private
jets only. I know there must be more but for us still that was wow.”
She
did not say presidential jets so it includes all the ones owned by individual
businessmen and government agencies that came to Kenyan that day.
And
what did the media and opposition do, they pick the part of her speech quoted
above leaving the other part that would have place the woman comment in proper
understanding, she said.
”But for us still that was wow. They
came in their own jets, everybody came in their own jets.”
But
what were the Kenyans expecting, that the President of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria to fly the same jet with over fifty (50) Nigeria businessmen that
included Aliko Dangote of Dangote Group, Africa’s richest businessman, Tony
Elumelu, Sani Dangote and Whitey Basson, that would have made more headlines.
Did
anyone bothered to ask what occasion was she referring to? September 5, 2013
was the date and the event was a business meeting at the instance of the Keyan
Government with Nigerian investors led by the President himself who was also on
a three days state visit. The Kenyan Star in a report titled, “Nigerian
investors to arrive in 7 private jets” gave a full account of the visit.
Nigerians!
be patriotic about your Country don’t allow element destroy it for you,
remember Andrew, “No checking out, Nigeria na our own”
